GRADS AT THE BROOKLYN MUSEUM

Graduates joined us at the Brooklyn Museum to visit the Kehinde Wiley exhibition, "A New Republic." The artworks brought up questions and conversations about how the subjects of Wiley's paintings were represented—their facial expressions, attire, and postures were discussed, and questions arose about how the subjects were chosen by the artist.

Participants were intrigued by Wiley's Judith and Holofernes (left) and Equestrian Portrait of King Phillip II (Michael Jackson) (right).
